Make Birth Better Birth Trauma Training

27th April 2020 - Central London

We look forward to welcoming you to our second Make Birth Better training event.

We listened to your feedback from last year and this training day will focus on:

  • Learning about the Make Birth Better model and how to use it - the model outlines the factors involved in the cause and prevention of birth trauma

  • Learning skills that will help you prevent and support people affected by birth trauma - both yourself and the people you work with

  • Break-out time for reflection and networking so you can meet other professionals and embed your new knowledge

The programme will run as follows:

  • How to use the Make Birth Better model (Dr Rebecca Moore and Dr Jan Smith)

  • How health professionals can use body awareness to prevent vicarious trauma and compassion fatigue (Julianne Boutaleb)

  • How to assess birth trauma using the City Birth Trauma scale (Professor Susan Ayers, City University of London and Dr Alex Thornton)

  • Building the Blocks to A More Compassionate You (Dr Jan Smith and Nikki Wilson)

Each attendee will receive a copy of the Make Birth Better Training Manual (2nd edition). Lunch and refreshments will also be provided.

Please note there are two ticket prices available: full and discount. Please use the discount price if your means don't stretch to the full ticket price.
