Learning about the Make Birth Better model and how to use it - the model outlines the factors involved in the cause and prevention of birth trauma
Learning skills that will help you prevent and support people affected by birth trauma - both yourself and the people you work with
Break-out time for reflection and networking so you can meet other professionals and embed your new knowledge
The programme will run as follows:
How to use the Make Birth Better model (Dr Rebecca Moore and Dr Jan Smith)
How health professionals can use body awareness to prevent vicarious trauma and compassion fatigue (Julianne Boutaleb)
How to assess birth trauma using the City Birth Trauma scale (Professor Susan Ayers, City University of London and Dr Alex Thornton)

Each attendee will receive a copy of the Make Birth Better Training Manual (2nd edition). Lunch and refreshments will also be provided.
