Before qualifying as a solicitor I was a Senior Operating Department Practitioner in the NHS where I gained extensive - and invaluable - medical and surgical experience. I worked in maternity services where I developed first-hand real-life experience and knowledge on the labour ward and maternity theatre. I had the privilege of being present at one of life’s amazing and most special moments, but also witness some of the worst when sadly things moved in the opposite direction. I feel an ongoing commitment to improve maternity care and safety. I regularly deliver training and talks to other lawyers and healthcare professionals on a wide range of areas to help work towards better outcomes for all.

Sadly, I see first-hand the catastrophic impact birth trauma has on families. As their legal representative, I seek to obtain the answers they are looking for as to how and why the birth trauma has occurred and to provide them with the support to rebuild their lives and obtain rehabilitation. I am committed to improving patient safety and ensuring lessons are truly learned when such tragic events occur, to prevent them being repeated.
